Kristin Edwards has been working in the Austin area as a freelance makeup artist since 2005 and began her threading practice in 2009. Kristin has always been creative and passionate about beauty and design, but her professional career began as a freelance artist with MAC as she gained invaluable experience with every style and skin-tone.

From brides, photo shoots or print ads—to looking great for a night out with the girls—her goal is to work with the client to achieve any look for every occasion.

Threading

Threading is the ancient practice of removing facial hair. The practice is popular in countries in Asia particularly in China, India and the Middle East, but gaining interest in the US. With a piece of 100% cotton thread, the hair gets caught, coiled and is pulled from the root. Threading is more natural and safer than waxing because no chemicals are used and the top layer of skin isn’t affected. If done properly, threading should last for weeks.
